The weather outside might be getting rather frightful, but you can still make your tummy happy in the city right now.
Start off at the Bryant Park Holiday Market for a liege waffle with speculoos and whipped cream from Wafels and Dinges:
Then, after continued shopping at Grand Central Station, head down to Num Pang Sandwich Shop for the Roasted Cauliflower sandwich (trust me – we got the pork belly too and it was a great sandwich, but the roasted cauliflower is transcendent).:
Start heading down south, and since it’s cold, you must take a rest break at Di Di Dumplings (not the best dumplings in town, but very decent and cheap. We got the steamed – you get the fried). :
Now that you are warm and toasty, perhaps a stop at the Union Square Holiday Market? So many nice things.
Then it’s off to 14th Street – lately one of my favorite eating streets in the city. For today I recommend the magnificent Beyond Sushi. Every bite there is just full of so much flavor – and you don’t feel guilty eating it!
Finally – just when you think the day can’t get any better, it can. Grab some Bao House for something amazing. We got the chicken and fish – I can’t imagine anything there being less than mind-blowing :
Now it’s time for a long winter’s nap to sleep it off – have fun!
